#DistrictofCurves DC Full Figured Fashion Showcase
***BEFORE I GET STARTED ON THE DETAILS OF THE FASHION SHOW, I MUST SAY THAT I APOLOGIZE FOR THE CRAZY LONG DELAY IN POSTING MY REVIEW OF THIS SHOW. I HAVE RECENTLY HAD SOME MEDICAL ISSUES, COMBINED WITH HOUSE HUNTING AND PREPARING TO MOVE ALL WHILE TRYING TO COMPLETE MY REGULAR POSTINGS TO MY BLOG. ONCE I GET SETTLED IN MY NEW PLACE, I WILL DEFINITELY BE POSTING MORE REGULARLY!!!! :-)***
Now that that is all done, (WHEW!!)
On Sunday, April 27th, 2014, I attended the District of Curves: DC Full Figured Fashion Showcase. The event was presented by The Curves Ahead Project, whose goal is "Promoting self-esteem, positive body image, and assertiveness." There were some FIERCE divas in the building and I must say that the entire fashion show and showcase was a HUGE success! There were a number of designers and boutiques showcasing their designs on the runway. Also, there were a few pop up shops along the entire parameter of the venue, making for ample opportunity to purchase some very unique, sexy and trendy looks for the curvy woman (and man!).
There was a variety of clothing on the runway: from clubwear, to office wear, to just a nice summer look for the beach. So don't think that there was just dresses coming down the runway, no honey! There were some great separates that could work for just going to the mall or hanging out with you friends or family. Great range of pieces in this showcase that I haven't even seen in a regular, stick skinny runway show!
Below, I have listed all of the designers and boutiques that sponsored and participated in the showcase, along with their Twitter handles and links to their websites. I also got exclusive front row access to the fashion show! I took a few pics but unfortunately, my phone died almost halfway through the fashion show (SMH) but, on the brighter side of things, I have got footage from @Curvy_CEO
through her Curvy CEO Youtube Channel (<<--CLICK HERE). I actually won the tickets to the fashion showcase from a contest that was run through her blog at curvyceo.com so check out her blog as well!
